That’s It!!!

I’ve been wrestling with different ideas for how to end “Ghost Writer” for a while now, and it came to me today.

I simply have to follow Stephen King’s advice, from his book “On Writing”:

“Kill your darlings, kill your darlings, even when it breaks your egocentric little scribbler’s heart, kill your darlings.”

I’ve outlined the ending, and it’s going to be particularly horrific, but it’ll work very well to conclude the story. I’ll write our the ending first, then walk away for a week or so. Then, I’ll come back to it from the start, for a second draft, and really tighten it up.

The course I took is going to be particularly helpful for that second draft, I can see that already.
